GGC Baseball Stands 4-2 After Opening the Season

Dale Long, Director of Sports Information, announced on January 29 in a media release that GGC’s baseball season will resume this February.

“The mood going into the season is compared to the calm before the storm. Everyone on the field looks confident in their training and ability and are just waiting on an opportunity to display the hard work put in,” Nick Barnes, Grizzlies’ Junior Outfielder, said.

Head Coach Jeremy Sheetinger is returning for a second season. He held a 23-2 overall record and a 20-0 home record in 2020.

The Grizzlies held a 22-game winning streak before the opening game.

This season, forty-one out of their forty-seven games will be played at home. Seven of them will be against nationally ranked teams.

GGC currently stands 4-2 after opening games against nationally ranked teams. The college also hosted the Southeast Rumble on February 11th through February 13th.
